Traditionally a local builder, today Walker Builders provides building, maintenance and service insurance repairs nationally, working for leading organizations such as the NHBC (The National House Building Society), house builders, developers and managing agents.
A family business established over 30 years ago the business has gone from strength to strength. Our trained and highly skilled team is recognised nationally for carrying out the highest quality work in a professional, friendly yet efficient and ‘no nonsense’ way.
We pride ourselves on the quality and versatility of our long standing workforce. They work closely with all our clients and aim to build and maintain a strong relationship from start to finish.
Our work is recognised by the NHBC (National House Building Society) the UK’s leading independent standard-setting body and provider of warranty and insurance for new homes. Covering 80% of new homes built in the UK, the NHBC have recognised and accredited our work for over 25 years. We carry out their remedial work and are recognised as one of their main approved partners, covering the North of England and beyond. This involves working on properties where the homeowners have encountered problems with the developers, so it is essential that we carry out works to the highest standard and with as little disruption as possible.
We have a team of eighteen tradespeople and a back office team of four who manage the running of the business and keep us all on track! We also have a valuable network of sub contractors who we work closely with, depending on the nature of the project we are working on.
Together we carry out continuous research to ensure we are using the best quality and most efficient materials allowing us to rectify problems as effectively as possible.
We are also part of The Considerate Constructors Scheme. This is a non-profit-making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image.
Construction sites, companies and suppliers voluntarily register with the Scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
